When the Bibles are hand delivered, every person is asked to promise these 3 things:
- Promise to read their new Bible everyday for the rest of their lives.
- Promise to obey Jesus’ commands and what the New Testament says.
- Promise to share the Gospel with their loved ones; reading it to the elderly and teaching it to the young as well as sharing their faith and knowledge with those they meet along the way.
Did you know that in most rural villages around the world, believers share a Bible with 200-500 other people? Seems extreme – right?!? What we’ve found was that many believers of Jesus Christ have never owned or even seen a Bible. And when asked, many people told them they had been fasting and praying for Bibles for years – some even for decades. Pastors also explained how they would walk a day or more to copy as much of the Bible as they could to bring back to their fellowships for a Sunday sermon – some pastors make this journey weekly!
