The Word is the means by which we are able to draw closer to The Lord so we can seek his mercy, love, and grace in times of sickness, sadness, or sorrow. It is through faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, that we can know we have a home in Heaven someday and share in His love, shelter, and protection while we live in this world. |

| Unfortunately my expedition to Nigeria, scheduled for October 20 thru October 31, 2025, encountered an unexpected delay due to the Nigerian Immigration Service. All was going well and right on time when I received a notice from Nigerian Immigration Services that my visa application had been received and was complete and that I would receive the visa by October 18. This was perfect so I confirmed my flight reservations with American Airlines and awaited the visa to arrive this past Saturday. Unfortunately, when Saturday came, instead of the visa I received another request for information they should already have had and a new date of Oct 24 to receive the visa! With my flight already confirmed, American Airlines refuses to let me reschedule to the week after my visa arrives or even issue me a refund. However I have been researching the Christian persecution in Nigeria and found the following: The death toll among Christians killed in Nigeria has been staggering. With more than 50,000 Christians killed, Central Nigeria has seen an increase in attacks, spreading beyond the northern regions. The Christian community faces relentless violence from extremist groups that target them for their faith. The central government’s failure to counteract this violence continues to fuel the crisis. According to a report issued in August by the International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law (Intersociety), an African nongovernmental group that documents human rights violations, in the first seven months of this year alone, more than 7,000 Christians were killed in Nigeria. Numbers vary and are difficult to verify, but between 2009 and 2023 in Nigeria, Intersociety reports at least 52,000 Christians killed, 18,500 abducted and unlikely to have survived, and more than 20,000 churches and Christian schools attacked. |

| Before ascending to heaven, Jesus gave us a commandment—an assignment really—but many Christians are half-hearted about completing the task. Christ told His followers to share the good news about salvation and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey His commands. Matthew 28:18-20 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. As Christ’s followers, we have the Holy Spirit residing within us, which means we have His power to fulfill this commision. We can’t save anyone, but it’s our responsibility to tell people about the God who can. How will they believe unless they hear (Romans 10:14)? This is what we do at FaithByTheWord Ministries! Romans 10:17 17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. |
