12/31/2024Many of us launch into a new year with a handful of resolutions to make the coming months better than those we left behind. Jesus is the one path to true transformation.
12/30/2024By all accounts, this year has seen its share of tragedy and trials. If you are exhausted and disheartened, invite Jesus into the situation. His presence changes everything – even when our circumstances do not.
12/29/2024Wherever Jesus is invited, He makes an appearance! Whether eating in a friend’s home or teaching in the temple, He took a keen interest in the joys and sorrows of ordinary people.
12/28/2024Albert Einstein once said, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” Too many claim to have never seen a miracle when, in reality, we experience too many to count!
12/27/2024Jesus’ claim that we would do greater works than He did seems quite preposterous when we consider all the works that He did!
12/26/2024To us, a Child was born, a Son was given. However, a gift must be accepted before it can be received. If we refuse the proffered gift, it does not belong to us.
12/25/2024When we are children, Christmas Day possesses a special kind of magic all its own. As adults, we still experience that sense of awe as we consider the reason that we celebrate. Isaiah prophesied that Jesus would be known as Wonderful – full of wonder – and oh, how we know it to be true.
12/24/2024The prophet Isaiah spoke of the coming Messiah – from the cradle to the cross, His mission and majesty. He looked ahead to a time when the government would rest on His shoulders, when He would rule from Jerusalem, and exercise dominion over the whole world.
12/23/2024During this Christmas season, we celebrate the Child that was born, and we rejoice that God’s Son was given to us. The word “given” speaks of the preexistence of Jesus. He existed long before He was born here on earth.
12/22/2024Jesus’ earthly journey began like any other infant’s life. He was born of a woman, naked and helpless like every baby. This speaks to us of Christ’s humanity.
12/21/2024Christmas is the celebration of a Child, God’s indescribable gift of love to us. He is the Light of the world, our Hope of glory.
12/20/2024Our Christmas celebration speaks of God’s heart-stopping, breathtaking love story to us. It opens like this: “For God so loved the world….”
12/19/2024God often asks us to let go of a good thing before He will place the better thing into our hands. If He is out in front, pulling us into deeper waters, we cannot stay in place. We must close our eyes, suck in a great gulp of air, and make the leap of faith.
12/18/2024As we look forward to a new year, many of us can honestly say that we really do not know where we are going. As long as we are focused on the One Who does, we can trust that we are headed in the right direction.
