Why Celebrate Recovery Exists…
---
Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find freedom from your hurts, hang-ups, and habits.
Celebrate Recovery is for EVERYONE! No one should have to face their pain alone. We are a grace-filled community of strugglers who courageously enter this safe and beautiful space to get honest about our pain, and the negative ways we may see ourselves, God, and others. In this process, we come to accept that some of the habits we have developed to escape our pain may have hurt us and those close to us. It is a biblically based approach to help us achieve long lasting recovery by healing our hurts, guiding us toward new healthy truths, and developing life-giving habits.
Celebrate Recovery started in 1991 as a ministry of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. Founder John Baker shared with Senior Pastor Rick Warren a vision God had given John for a new ministry where people could find freedom from their hurts, hang-ups, and habits.
There are now 35,000+ churches with a Celebrate Recovery ministry, plus Celebrate Recovery is found in recovery houses, rescue missions, universities, and prisons around the world. We are a part of something much larger than one church’s recovery ministry. Celebrate Recovery continues to be a growing global movement.
Sharing Our Blessings Is Our God-Given Purpose & Responsibility
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 These are comprehensive descriptors that provide extraordinary comfort because they assure us that no matter what we go through, God will provide His all-encompassing comfort. In addition, we can console others who are experiencing trials and heartaches, whether we’ve experienced them or not. This is the greatness of God. As our Creator, He fully understands what we’re suffering and knows how to comfort our hurting hearts. As He comforts us, we pass along His comfort to others so they too can become a conduit for His comfort, mercy, and grace.
Our Mission Is Clear
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. Isaiah 61:1

Truth
---
And ye shall know the truth, and And The Truth Will Set You Free… John 8:32 In the Bible, The Truth is not just an abstract idea or a set of correct facts. Instead, it is defined as the personal and moral reality of God Himself, whose character, words, and actions are completely reliable, unchanging, and faithful. For the new Believer in Christ there is a path laid out by Jesus Himself that leads to the spiritual maturity that is necessary to please God. Daily Spiritual Habits Should Include: 1. Read the Bible: Start small. Try reading the Gospel of Mark or John in the New Testament to learn about Jesus. 2. Pray: Talk to God honestly every day. Share your thanks, your worries, and ask for His guidance. 3. Reflect: Think deeply on short passages rather than rushing through chapters. Community and Growth Should Include: 1. Find a Church: Join a local Bible-teaching church where you can worship, learn, and meet other Christians. 2. Join a Small Group: Find a small group or Sunday school class for friendship and accountability. 3. Be Patient: Building strong faith takes time. Do not be discouraged by mistakes or tough days.
