FaithByTheWord Ministries completed a mission journey to East Africa recently to determine if our church plantings and pastor training has been successful.
Our program to train pastors and build churches for the remote villages of Uganda is more than 2 years further along than we had hoped and prayed!

For highlights of the mission expedition see the 2023 East African Mission Expedition webpage.
Our primary short term goal in reaching out to a remote village is to plant a church including the construction and furnishing of the church, supplying all members with a Bible of their own, and staffing the church with a trained pastor.

FaithByTheWord Ministries is working diligently to train as many pastors as possible to teach The Word in the remote villages of East Africa. Bibles are so scarce and hard to get and own that many village churches may have 20 members but only 1 Bible. The usual practice is to divide the Bible into 20 sections and distribute 1 section to each member. After reading and studying their section for a period of weeks, they will swap with someone else and continue studying. The cycle repeats itself permanently. Our goal is to make sure every member and every home has a personal Bible.

FaithByTheWord Ministries completes a mission journey to East Africa that has been in the planning for two years.
Well, we are back from Africa and I am so excited I cannot stand myself! Our program to train pastors and build churches for the remote villages is 2 years further along than I expected to find.

I just want everyone to know that your prayers and love have brought many wonderful and abundant blessings to these remote villages through this ministry. I met the last 2 weeks of September with our Executive Pastors For Uganda and Kenya. We reviewed the past two years of pastor training and planting in the very remote villages of Uganda. This calling by God has resulted in over 1,200 students in 70 classes earning certificates in Sound Doctrine And Ministry Skills in just the past 18 months! All of this training is administered through The Theological Bible Studies Institute of FaithByTheWord Ministries.

For highlights of the mission expedition see the 2023 East African Mission Expedition webpage.

FaithByTheWord Ministries begins a mission journey to East Africa that has been in the planning for two years.
A needy international service of FaithByTheWord Ministries is to express The Love of God and The Word of God to our brothers and sisters in need of spiritual growth and nourishment, wherever they may be, whether here in the U.S. or in one of the rural remote East African villages where we focus on planting churches.

Eastern Africa is part of Sub-Saharan Africa comprising two traditionally recognized regions: East Africa, made up of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda; and the Horn of Africa, made up of Somalia, Djibouti, Eritrea, and Ethiopia.

The average Sub-Saharan African lives on $4 a day and cannot afford a caffe latte from Starbuck’s.

Sub-Saharan Africans value relationships over tasks making them very willing to discuss Christ instead of doing their chores.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, 62% of the population is under age 25 and by 2050 one-third of the world’s youth will live there.

Sub-Saharan Africa is home to many of the world’s fastest growing cities and by 2100 the three largest cities on earth will be there.

Sub-Saharan Africa has the most refugees and internationally displaced peoples in the world with over 22 million Africans having fled their homes due to violence, natural disaster, and persecution.

More Christians live in Sub-Saharan Africa than any other region and by 2060 four of ten Christians in the world are expected to live there.

FaithByTheWord Ministries, in its efforts to put The Written Word into the hands of Christians around the world, became a major collection site for Project Bible Runners in 2022 and has today shipped its first bounty of over 1,500 Bibles and 1,000 Pastoral Study Guides and Commentaries via Project Bible Runners to many around the world who would not have Bibles & commentaries otherwise. We have been blessed to receive 2 tons of books and Bibles in just the past 3 months!!!
At FaithByTheWord Ministries our mission includes making sure everyone has access to The Word Of God anytime and anywhere they desire regardless of whether they can read or not. To meet this objective we have been partnering with Project Bible Runners and Faith Comes By Hearing – two Godly blessed ministries that specialize in delivering The Word Of God in unique and powerful ways.

And now, to further support our partnership with Project Bible Runners, we have become a major collection site for Alamance County and the surrounding counties where anyone or any organization can drop off their used Bibles until Project Bible Runners makes their regular pickup every few months. To facilitate our efforts to gather Bibles we have now completed a storage building capable of holding over 8,000 Bibles for the Project Bible Runners’ transport truck to pick up every 3-4 months.

We have invested over $8,000 to construct this building and prayerfully ask if you would please consider helping us support our partnership with Project Bible Runners and make a donation today.

FaithByTheWord Ministries’ Executive Pastor for the country of Uganda in East Africa, Alex Kitakufe, has developed Malaria, Typhoid, and Covid. He desperately needs our prayers and support. Pastor Alex is in need of help with medical bills, food, and housing because he has suffered from numerous and frequent diseases over the past few years and is now suffering with typhoid, malaria, and most likely his 3rd case of Covid.  Without insurance and normal health benefits like we enjoy in the USA, Pastor Alex is in desperate need of financial aid to cover medical, surgical, and hospitalization charges as well as help with his rent, utilities, and food expenses for an undetermined period while he recovers.
With malnutrition as a common contributor, the five biggest infectious killers in Africa are acute respiratory infections, HIV/AIDS, diarrhea, malaria and tuberculosis, and are responsible for nearly 80% of the total infectious disease burden and claim more than 6 million people per year. The leading causes of death in Africa were neonatal conditions, lower respiratory infections, and diarrhea diseases. Neonatal conditions result in around 1000 deaths per 100,000 population in Africa.

Please prayerfully consider helping us get Pastor Alex back on his feet and make a donation today.
FaithByTheWord Ministries Executive Director Dave Winstead has been planning a trip to East Africa all year long but has experienced one delay after another. First it took 4 months more than expected to obtain a passport renewal due to the increased travel by those who couldn’t travel previously due to the coronavirus. Now it is due to lack of vaccine for the Monkeypox virus.
Our goal is to make sure all 2500 rural villages in East Africa have a resident pastor / school teacher. Training is currently underway and soon we will be planting pastors and churches in these villages. There is much planning left to accomplish and it would be a blessing to do it in person with our executive pastors over there.

Please prayerfully consider helping us achieve our goal of planting pastors and churches in the three main countries of East Africa – Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania – and make a donation today.
FaithByTheWord Ministries, in its never ceasing efforts to to share The Gospel throughout the world, is initiating a campaign, by partnering with Faith Comes By Hearing, to provide Audio Bibles for distribution to the illiterate wherever needed around the world.
The rural villages of East Africa – primarily the countries of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania where we have a large presence – are desperate for solar powered Audio Bibles. Due to the remote nature of these rural villages, children have only begun to receive the barest form of education within the past 40 years. Almost all village residents over 40 are illiterate and cannot read a printed Bible. With your help sponsoring these Audio Bibles we can make a difference in thousands of lives by providing an Audio Bible that the whole village can listen to at the same time!!!

Our goal is to make sure all 2500 rural villages have at least one Audio Bible. You can sponsor an Audio Bible for $50 which covers freight to ship it to the village. With your help we can make sure all 2500 rural villages have at least one Audio Bible within 3 years!

Please prayerfully consider helping us achieve our goal of sending solar powered Audio Bibles to the three main countries of East Africa – Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania – and make a donation today.
FaithByTheWord Ministries already has a goal to plant a trained pastor in every one of the 2500 rural villages in East Africa by 2026 and we are on target with 500 trained pastors this year!!! We have now prayerfully expanded this goal to also include building a new church in every one of these villages!
These church buildings will not only be utilized for worship services but for educating the village children as well. The pastor we plant will also be responsible for teaching these children. We are considering the development of a special support program whereby churches here in the USA will adopt a village for $100 per month.

Please prayerfully consider helping us achieve our goal of building and maintaining a church in the three main countries of East Africa – Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania – and make a donation today.

FaithByTheWord Ministries, in its never ceasing efforts to to share The Gospel throughout the world, is initiating a campaign to collect out of date and obsolete smartphones that are no longer useful but still work and can be used to store our vast library of Bible Study Tools and Documents.
We hope to collect 2,500 Android Smartphones which we will reformat to store our vast library of Bible study tools and documents. These will be provided to each of the pastors we plan to install in each of the 2,500 remote villages of East Africa over the next 4 years. The phones will not require expensive internet access or AC electricity and will be provided with solar powered power supplies. Please contact us if you would like to assist in this effort.
FaithByTheWord Ministries, in its efforts to to share The Gospel throughout the world, has created the Theological Bible Studies Institute.
On July 20, 2022 the Theological Bible Studies Institute will graduate over 100 student pastors from its course on Sound Doctrine & Ministry Skills being conducted in Busia, Uganda. This brings the total pastors trained this year in Uganda to over 500! Our goal is to have a trained pastor planted in every one of the 2500 rural villages in East Africa by 2026. We are on target!!!
FaithByTheWord Ministries continues to reach out around the globe by delivering The Word Of God visually and audibly to individuals, churches, and entire villages.

FaithByTheWord Ministries, in its efforts to to share The Gospel throughout the world, has created the Theological Bible Studies Institute.
The main purpose of the institute is to train pastors who will be able to train other pastors who will be able to train others. If we train 10 who train 10 who train 10 we will have trained 1000 pastors! Our plan is to have a trained pastor in all 2500 remote villages in East Africa by 2026.

As of 7/7/2022 we now have 28,000 followers in 140 countries around the globe. Many follow us to access FaithByTheWord.org’s Spiritual Food For The Soul which is updated every day of the year.

FaithByTheWord Ministries continues to expand its efforts to share The Gospel throughout the world.
Life In Christ Ministries Uganda is a strategic partner with FaithByTheWord Ministries and oversees the establishment of regional and local churches throughout East Africa. It is our goal to establish a church in all 2,500 rural villages in East Africa by 2025. East Africa is primarily the countries of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.

Please prayerfully consider helping us support our partnership with Life In Christ Ministries Uganda and make a donation today.
FaithByTheWord Ministries continues to minister to the needy by delivering the gospel and meeting their needs with love, compassion, and assistance.
One of FaithByTheWord Ministries’ missions is to express the love of God to our seniors in need of a little love and compassion as we help match them up with resources they might require but don’t know where or how to find them nor have anyone to help them.
Thru local resources, such as Alamance EldercareThe Alamance County Senior Services Committee, and The Department of Health and Human Services, FaithByTheWord Ministries is able to have access to many resources for the elderly that otherwise might be difficult to find.

Please prayerfully consider helping us support our elderly and their families and make a donation today.

FaithByTheWord has been evaluating a newly discovered and God-given solution to an ongoing challenge of how to get The Word to all of the villagers in the remote rural villages of East Africa.
A challenge with which FaithByTheWord has been faced from the beginning of the ministry is just how we can get The Word to everyone in the rural villages of East Africa. With the ratio of Bibles to Christians currently being 1 Bible for every 300 Christians, it is not possible to get The Word to everyone by expecting them to read on their own – even if they could all read – which many can not.

We have recently been evaluating an electronic Bible that can play The Word to an entire village of 100 villagers or more at a time in many different languages and in many different translations and it runs on solar power!!! A 2 hour charge in the sun will produce 8 hours of operation. Please go to Faith Comes By Hearing to learn more about this powerful device.

Our evaluation of these units has been an overwhelming success. We are very excited about the possibility of leaving one of these units behind in every village we visit so they can hear the Word Of The Lord every day of the year. There are over 2,500 rural villages in Eastern Africa and they all need this wonderful electronic Bible!

Please prayerfully consider helping us make this Blessing From God a reality in the lives of many thousands of God’s children who are hungry to hear The Word and make a donation today. A donation of $100 will allow us to purchase a unit and cover the high costs of shipping and handling to get it to a village. If every follower of FaithByTheWord Ministries would only donate $10 we could put The Word into every ear and heart of every villager in East Africa every day!!! Oh the possibilities!!!
FaithByTheWord is under attack from Satan for its work to provide charitable assistance to the needy.
Because FaithByTheWord attempted to raise legal fees to help a local pastor get out of prison after 32 years of incarceration for a murder that was not his fault, GoFundMe has deleted our account, deleted all of the GoFundMe projects for people whom we helped build their GoFundMe pages, and informed us that we could never do business with them again and that they would ignore any attempts we might make to contact them. This was done with no notice or right to appeal. If you prayerfully donated to the many causes we have helped free of charge or if you would be kind enough to help us get this new fundraising page shared, we would be eternally grateful.

To learn more about the pastor we tried to help, please click here. Please prayerfully consider donating to this cause.

A donation of $100 will allow us to purchase a unit and cover the high costs of shipping and handling to get it to a village.
FaithByTheWord is now partnering with the ministries of Project Bible Runners.
FaithByTheWord’s primary short term goal in reaching out to the remote villages of East Africa is to plant churches, including the construction and furnishing of the church, supplying all members with a Bible of their own, and staffing the church with a trained pastor. A significant effort lies in just obtaining and distributing Bibles to every Christian. As of today in rural Africa, there is only 1 Bible for every 300 Christians! In an effort to supply Bibles whenever and wherever needed, FaithByTheWord is now partnering with Project Bible Runners.

Please prayerfully consider how you and your church can assist in the collection of Bibles for this cause with FaithByTheWord and make a donation today.
FaithByTheWord has identified an Executive Pastor for Tanzania In East Africa and will plan a trip to East Africa in the coming months to meet with the Executive Pastors in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
FaithByTheWord Ministries is focused on bringing The Word Of Christ to the remote villages in East Africa. East Africa is primarily comprised of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. FaithByTheWord has been blessed to have located executive pastors for Uganda and Kenya and has now identified one of God’s special leaders to head up our efforts in Tanzania. Executive pastors locate and train other pastors for the remote villages and coordinate their efforts. Dave Winstead, Executive Director & Founder of FaithByTheWord Ministries is planning a trip to East Africa to meet the Executive Pastors for each country this summer.
FaithByTheWord Ministries Temporarily Suspends Accepting Requests For Aid From Non-U.S. Orphanages.
Regrettably, FaithByTheWord Ministries must decline all requests for financial aid from orphanages outside of the United States due to the high occurance of fraudulent requests by imposters. The resources simply do not exist to validate every claim. We receive hundreds of requests from non-U.S. orphanages every week and are limited in how much time can be invested to assure funds are well spent. As resources increase it is hoped to resume considering non-domestic orphanages but for now only requests from domestic U.S. orphanages will be considered.

Please prayerfully consider sponsoring additional staffing for FaithByTheWord and make a donation today.
Church Repair And Construction Are A Top Priority In East Africa.
FaithByTheWord’s primary short term goal in reaching out to a remote village is to plant a church including the church building construction and / or repair and furnishing of the church, supplying all members with a Bible of their own, and staffing the church with a trained pastor.

The villagers in these remote rural areas feel they dishonor God by not providing a church from which to worship Him. The goal of every village is to build a church albeit a very basic structure of poles and tin sheets. Without aid from outside ministries such as FaithByTheWord to buy materials, it can take years for a village to save money a little at a time and buy materials as they go even though it may only be a few poles or a sheet of tin. However, when the first pole goes in the ground they have established a church and will worship there every Sunday even though they may be drenched in the rain. They don’t have umbrellas and overcoats but they are honoring God!

It only costs $350 – $750 to construct the simple structures needed to hold 30-60 members! Please consider sponsoring a church building project and make a donation today.
Sickness And Death Ravage East Africa.
In East Africa / Sub-Saharan Africa, 62% of the population is under age 25 and by 2050 one-third of the world’s youth will live there. There are many many orphanages. The low average age and many orphanages are due to lack of medical care. These people do not have money for healthcare. With malnutrition as a common contributor, the five biggest infectious killers in Africa are acute respiratory infections, HIV/AIDS, diarrhea, malaria and tuberculosis, responsible for nearly 80% of the total infectious disease burden and claiming more than 6 million people per year. When they get sick they go to bed and live if they get well and die if they don’t. Please prayerfully consider how you can help FaithByTheWord provide care for our pastors so they can continue to carry out “The Great Commission”. Please pray for our pastors and all of the people in East Africa and make a donation today. Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations!
Pastoral Training In Uganda Is Growing Faster Than Expected.
Since FaithByTheWord Ministries has a major focus on bringing The Word Of Christ to the remote villages in East Africa, there is a constant need to train more and more pastors. By June these training sessions are expected to grow to 300 pastors per month. The church building we currently use comfortably seats 300 but the desperate need is for sleeping accommodations. Please prayerfully consider how you can help FaithByTheWord carry out “The Great Commission” and make a donation today. Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations!
Need For an Executive Pastor for Tanzania In East Africa.
FaithByTheWord Ministries is focused on bringing The Word Of Christ to the remote villages in East Africa. East Africa is primarily comprised of Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania. FaithByTheWord has been blessed to have located executive pastors for Uganda and Kenya and is now looking for one of God’s special leaders to head up our efforts in Tanzania. The executive pastor will locate and train other pastors for the remote villages and coordinate their efforts.
Need For Laptops For Pastoral Training Instructors In East Africa.
Since FaithByTheWord Ministries has a major focus on bringing The Word Of Christ to the remote villages in East Africa, there is a constant need to train more and more pastors every month. The pastoral training instructors urgently need laptop computers to carry out their assignments and daily recordkeeping. Although they may already have laptops – and many do – the ones they have are quickly becoming very unreliable with age. A good quality, no frills, laptop with software costs around $450. Please prayerfully consider how you can help supply these instructors with the technology they need and make a donation today.
Urgent Need For Bibles In East Africa.
There is only an average of 1 Bible for every 300 Christians in most of the rural villages!!! Our goal is to make sure every member has a personal Bible and every home has at least 1. A case of 24 Bibles can be purchased for $42 but the freight is very high. Please prayerfully consider how you can help share The Word and make a donation today.
Motorbikes For Our Ministry Pastors Are Off To A Good Start!
FaithByTheWord Ministries has a major focus on bringing The Word Of Christ to the remote villages in East Africa. We have lead pastors in the countries of Uganda and Kenya. These pastors walk 20 miles or more each day 5-6 days every week because public transportation is not available. We can quadruple the areas they cover simply by providing a used motorbike that would allow them to travel much further much quicker and with much less hardship. Used, reliable, motorbikes can be purchased for $450 – $1000. We have now raised $450 to purchase a motorbike for our lead pastor in Kenya. Please prayerfully consider how you can help meet this very important need and make a donation today.
Pastoral Training In Uganda Is A Major Success.
Since FaithByTheWord Ministries has a major focus on bringing The Word Of Christ to the remote villages in East Africa, there is a constant need to train more and more pastors every month. The training session in January enrolled 65 pastors. These training sessions are growing in size every month and will need to make room for 300 pastors per month by the end of this year. The church building we currently use comfortably seats 300 but the desperate need is for sleeping accommodations. Please prayerfully consider how you can help FaithByTheWord carry out “The Great Commission” and make a donation today. Go ye therefore and make disciples of all nations!
Urgent Need For Transportation For FaithByTheWord Ministry Leaders In Uganda & Kenya.
If we can raise $1200 it should permit the purchase of both bikes. Please prayerfully consider how you can help meet this very important need and make a donation today. God will bless your giving heart!!!

FaithByTheWord’s Newest Outreach Ministry.
Along with FaithByTheWord’s domestic outreach ministries, we have begun to develope an international outreach ministry to The Spiritually Needy In East Africa.

Our primary geographical focus is the small remote rural villages of East Africa surrounding the major cities in the countries of Uganda and Kenya.

Our primary short term goal in reaching out to a remote village is to plant a church including the construction and furnishing of the church, and staffing the church with a trained pastor. Each church can be established for $1000. They do not have electricity or water or floors.

Our primary long term goal includes safe water development projects (spring protection, bore holes), support for schools (establishment of a school and the education projects needed to sustain it), support for village medical needs (covid medication, typhoid medicine, mosquito nets).

The small rural villages on which we focus, are quite primitive. Many of them have no idea of just what electricity is or have ever seen anything that uses it. They have no wells and walk an average of 2.5 miles each way to get drinking water. They live in straw huts with dirt floors.
