The apostles had been with Christ, and they could not help but testify to that which they had seen and heard. Every Christian should become an ambassador of Christ with splendid abandon. Every Christian should be so intoxicated with Christ and so filled with holy fervor that nothing could ever quench his ardor. The Gospel that Paul preached seemed madness to the world of his day. | 9/14/2026 | The human soul is a lonely thing. It must have the assurance of companionship. Left entirely to itself, it cannot enjoy anything. God said in the beginning, “It is not good that man should dwell alone” (Genesis 2:18). The creation of Eve was the beginning of human companionship. God’s people are a body, not intended to function separately, not intended to be unconcerned for one another. The only true body in the world is the Church. The world may talk grandly of brotherhood, but in reality its philosophy is “each man for himself.” God’s children are guaranteed the richest and truest friendship, both here and hereafter. Only in a true friendship and a true love do we find a genuine basis for peace. Only God can break down the national and racial barriers that divide men today. Only God can supply that love that we must have for our fellowman. We will never build brotherhood of man upon earth until we are believers in Christ Jesus. | 9/13/2026 | On Independence Day we should be on our knees thanking God for all He has given us. The United States is a country in which everyone has an equal opportunity. Thank God for a country where there is no caste or class to keep a man from going to the top. If a man has a will to work and study, he can go ahead regardless of his background. In addition, thank God, He has given us freedom of religion. Whatever you may believe, no one can close your church because your religion does not coincide with his. A few people meeting in a small, out-of-the-way shack, worshiping God as they believe in Him, have the same right to religious freedom as the people who worship God in the great cathedrals on the avenues of our greatest cities. | 9/12/2026 | The message of Jesus is not one of tolerance for sin, but the confession and forsaking of sin to pursue Him and His path. His message is repentance and restoration. Repentance involves not only a deep sorrow for the sin that we have committed, but a changing of our hearts and minds and actions. It requires a turning back to God, a realigning to His purposes. | 9/11/2026 | The question remains, “How can God be just—that is, true to Himself in nature and true to Himself in holiness—and yet justify the sinner?” Because each man had to bear his own sins, all mankind was excluded from helping, since each was contaminated with the same disease. The only solution was for an innocent party to volunteer to die physically and spiritually as a substitution before God. This innocent party would have to take man’s judgment, penalty, and death. But where was such an individual? Certainly, there was none on earth. There was only one possibility. | 9/10/2026 | Like a physical prison that’s built brick by brick, a spiritual prison is erected one sin at a time. Ensnarement happens slowly, beginning with a thought. Over time, contemplation can turn into action. But we can avoid spiritual chains. Our first step is to acknowledge two basic truths: All sin enslaves, and it begins in the mind. We cannot maintain a healthy relationship with the Lord while deliberately indulging in sin. When a wrong thought creeps into our consciousness, we have the choice to either expel or entertain it (2 Corinthians 10:3-5). | 9/9/2026 | When the word “apocalypse” is mentioned, visions of doomsday scenarios, mushroom clouds over cities, and end-of-days disasters come immediately to mind. The apocalypse is not the end of the world, a nuclear war or a horrific, last-days judgment. “Apocalypse” is derived from a Greek word that means “to pull back, unveil or the holy disclosure of information or knowledge.” Sometimes, we become so focused on the notes on the page that we forget to enjoy the music. The apocalypse is not intended to create confusion or bog us down in frightening details. When the final word is uttered by the last leader on earth, God will still be in power. No government can unseat Him. No scientist can disprove Him. No judge can overrule Him. I believe that out there in space where there are one thousand million galaxies, each a hundred thousand light years or more in diameter, God can find some place to put us in Heaven. I’m not worried about where it is. I know it will be where Jesus is. Christians don’t have to go around discouraged and despondent, with their shoulders bent. | 9/6/2026 | Today, many scoff at the idea of a spiritual realm of darkness where Satan rules, where his fiendish agents carry out missions to “steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10). But Ephesians 6:12 warns believers that we do not fight against flesh and blood. We battle against satanic beings, evil princes of darkness, and spiritual envoys from the headquarters of wickedness. While we may not perceive them with natural eyes, we need not look far to see the damage that they have perpetrated: a world thrown into confusion, seething racial tensions, economic collapse, soaring unemployment, and broken families. Satan is on the prowl! Now is the time to be sober, vigilant, and aware of the father of lies! Now is the time to suit up; put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, and the helmet of salvation. Now is the time to wield the flaming sword of the Word of God, to heft the shield of faith to dodge every burning missile the enemy hurls at us. We can read about it in His Word. We can sing about it corporately with a body of believers. But in the middle of the night, when circumstances are bleak, when we read about it in His Word, and when we are alone and afraid and tired of the fight, will we trust Him? Trust is born, nurtured, and solidified inside of a relationship. When we commit to Jesus for the long haul, when we are faithful to Him exclusively, when we cling to Him, trust grows. When we obey the things He asks, He goes ahead of us. He stands ready to meet us with His power and presence. He provides everything we need…even things we did not know we needed. In order for fruit to appear in our lives, the Word of God must be planted in our hearts and then we must die to self, making Christ the center of our lives. In the face of chastening, adversity, discipline, and affliction, fruit begins to appear, because the Holy Spirit is strengthening us and the attributes of the Lord begin to manifest themselves in our thinking and in our actions. This process, like steel which has been tempered and made strong by the heat of a furnace, makes us useful to God. But what baby is sent out to fight a battle? Even at a tender age, He went to the Temple and “taught” the doctors and lawyers who were entrenched in the old traditions. He found His way to the seaside and intruded upon the life of the commonest of laborers, saying, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Wherever He went He challenged, uprooted, and changed men. Sometimes on television I see motion pictures featuring actors who are no longer living. They seem very much alive in the picture, but they are dead. Some of them were my personal friends. Death is real, and when we die, that is a battle we have to fight all alone. Nobody can be with us in that hour, but David said he had found an answer that would take the fear of death away. David said that there is an answer to death, there is a hope beyond death. That hope is centered in the risen Christ. Second Peter 3:8 says, “But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” As far as God is concerned, it’s only been a few days since Jesus left this Earth. God hasn’t forgotten. The reason Jesus is not yet come is that God has kept the door of mercy open. I believe God, in mercy, is waiting on our generation to come to Jesus, but one of these days, the Day of the Lord will come, and even now the raging waters of God’s wrath are furiously pounding against the dam of His mercy. | 8/25/2026 | How do I know Jesus is coming again? Because I believe the Bible. The Bible has shown itself to be the Word of God, and repeatedly the Bible mentions the Second Coming of Jesus. Now the new birth is important, but a new birth is mentioned only nine times in the Bible. Baptism is important, but it’s only mentioned 20 times in the Bible. Repentance is wonderfully important—it is only mentioned 70 times in the New Testament. But the Second Coming of Jesus Christ is mentioned 380 times in the New Testament alone. In our passage, Peter said that some will ask, “Where is the promise of his coming?” It’s all over the Bible. He has promised, and He cannot lie. If you take the whole Bible, one out of every twenty-five verses speak of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus has said He will return, and He won’t break that promise. Adrian Rogers |

| 8/21/2026 | For those who follow Jesus Christ as believers in the eternal hope that He gives, our ultimate destination is where Jesus is—Heaven. But He has chosen in His sovereignty that we remain on Earth for a time to be His light in a dark world. Just as the light of His Gospel has driven truth into the hearts of believers, so He intends to use us to shine His light to others who have not yet found Him as Lord and Savior. What an opportunity He gives to us to proclaim His name and be a witness of His grace, mercy and love. If God took us immediately into eternity to spare us all the problems and heartaches of this life, we’d never again have to experience worry or sorrow or suffering, and all the burdens and temptations that trouble us now would vanish. So why are we left here for a time? The reason is simple: God still has work for us to do right here. That’s the reason one of my favorite books in the Bible, if not my favorite, is Romans, and one of my favorite chapters in Romans is chapter 8. Romans 8:35-37 asks a question: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: ‘For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.’ Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Paul didn’t say you’re not going to experience these things. Don’t get the idea that somehow these things only happen to those who don’t love the Lord. No, these are things that happen to the victorious. | 8/17/2026 | We are encouraged as Christians to “put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” In other words, we don’t come pre-equipped with these traits. Rather, we develop them as we learn to imitate Jesus Christ—“bearing with … and forgiving each another.” The Holy Spirit faithfully guides us in growing spiritual fruit. Our Father then provides opportunities to use and further hone these attributes. We’re caring, listening, and serving however we can. In a world that insists on doing everything quickly, patience is an amazing gift to give another person. God put patience on the list of spiritual fruit (Galatians 5:22-23), indicating that this trait is possible for every believer. Whatever gifts you possess, patience is an attribute you can put on. Perhaps the most direct of all its statements is Luke’s account in the book of Acts, where he reports, “To whom also he showed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days” (Acts 1:3). What are we going to do with these “many infallible proofs”? Someone asked my colleague George Beverly Shea how much he knew about God. He said, “I don’t know much, but what I do know has changed my life.” We may not be able to take all of this evidence into a scientific laboratory and prove it; but, if we accept any fact of history, we must accept the fact that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. But Jesus taught something radically different: “Whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant”. In God’s kingdom, greatness is measured by humble service to others, not earthly accomplishments or recognition. True greatness, from heaven’s perspective, is measured not on earth but in eternity. When we stand before the judgment seat of Christ, He’ll be looking at how we served others in His name, not at our impressive resumes. Humble people understand who they are—and who the Lord is. Their assignment while on earth is to use whatever He has entrusted to them in ways that glorify Him and benefit others. Heaven is described as a new creation in which we shall move in new bodies, possessed of new names, singing new songs, living in a new city, by a new form of government, and challenged by new prospects of eternity with social justice for all. The paradise that man lost will be regained, but it will be much more. It will not be the old one repaired, patched up, and made over. When God says, “Behold, I make all things new,” the emphasis is on all things. One day we shall live in a brand-new world. | 8/7/2026 | There was a time when death laid his bony hands on the Lord Jesus Christ, drug Him into a dungeon, and put Him on a cold slab. Jesus was bound with the chains of death. One day passed. Two days passed. Three days passed. And death, that old monarch of terrors, laughed his hoarse laugh and clapped his bony hands saying, “I have Him.” But on the third day, Jesus broke those chains and rose. A look of fear came over the face of death himself. Jesus reached up, pulled death from his throne, and threw him to the dungeon floor. The crown rolled off death’s head. Jesus reached in and pulled the sting out of death, put his heel on the neck of death, put the crown on His head, and walked out of that tomb risen, living, and victorious as Savior. Because He lives, we live with Him. We no longer have to fear death. We have a Savior. Faith relies on the unbreakable promises of God. Faith recognizes the unshakeable power of God. | 8/6/2026 | Scripture is filled with many wonderful promises from the Lord, but we often struggle to accept them as true in our own life. God wants us to believe that He’s willing and able to do what He has said He will accomplish. God assures us we don’t have to give in to sin (1 Corinthians 10:13). Jesus experienced this truth when the Holy Spirit led Him into the wilderness for an encounter with Satan (Matt. 4:1-11). Our Savior successfully resisted the Devil’s enticements by recalling who the Father is and what He had promised. The world we live in has a lot of traps, and they can be hard to detect. For example, Peter had a conversation with a servant girl and ended up denying that he knew Jesus Christ (Matthew 26:69-74). Like the disciple, we sometimes have trouble recognizing a situation’s potential danger, but our heavenly Father understands what is involved—and He knows just how we should respond. When you face temptation or encounter an unexpected difficulty, the approach needs to be the same. | 8/5/2026 | Jesus knew what it meant to have limited financial resources, to have those closest to Him question His actions, and to be rejected by those He sought to serve (Matthew 8:20; Mark 3:21; John 6:66-67). Yet in spite of such opposition, He didn’t let circumstances affect His trust in the Father. We’re called to follow Jesus’ example by believing that God is able to do what He’s promised. For instance, Hebrews 7:25 assures salvation for whoever comes to God through Jesus. The Father will pardon everybody who has genuine faith in His Son and will make each one a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). No matter what trouble a person may have caused, the Lord invites him or her to draw near in faith and receive the gift of everlasting life. God also promises to establish in truth everyone who trusts in Him (Romans 16:25). Through His Word and Spirit, we start to see things as our Father does, which helps us understand what pleases Him. The most powerful and influential people on Earth are parents of faith. Amram and Jochebed’s claim to fame is that they raised a child whose name was Moses, who literally changed the world. I cannot overestimate the importance of family. We’ve been told that it takes a village to raise a child. That’s backward. It takes a family to raise a child, and families change the village. It begins with parents. Family is the primary classroom. The Bible says in Psalm 68:6 that God sets the solitary in families. | 8/3/2026 | If you’ve studied church history, you’ve likely heard the name Dwight L. Moody. He was not a literate man. He was basically uneducated. But his biographer said that he took two continents and shook them for God. Moody felt that he needed faith. And he kept praying for faith, but faith didn’t seem to come. And then he read Romans 10:17: “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” At that, Moody stopped praying for faith and began to saturate himself in the Bible. And there was the faith. Faith is the by-product of hearing from God. You can’t have faith if you’re merely guessing at the will of God. You can’t have faith if you’re just following a hunch. | 8/2/2026 | The soul demands as much attention as the body. It demands fellowship and communion with God. It demands worship, quietness, and meditation. Unless the soul is fed and exercised daily, it becomes weak and shriveled. It remains discontented, confused, restless. Many people turn to alcohol to try to drown the cryings and longings of the soul. Some turn to a new sex experience. Others attempt to quiet the longings of their souls in other ways. Nothing but God ever completely satisfies, because the soul is made for God, and without God it is restless and in secret torment. The first step to God is a realization of your spiritual poverty. The poor in spirit do not measure the worth of life in earthly possessions, which fade away, but in terms of eternal realities, which endure forever. | 8/1/2026 | God doesn’t communicate with us in exactly the same way that He spoke to the Old Testament prophets, but the process of receiving His message hasn’t changed. It starts with being alone in His presence and listening as He speaks through His Word. But it shouldn’t end there. Begin each day alone with God in His Word and in prayer, listening as He speaks to your heart. Believe what He says in Scripture, apply it to your life, and then share with someone else what He has revealed to you. You see, salvation is not your work, it is God’s work, and that’s the reason the Apostle Paul said he was “confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). This should cause us to say amen. What has been decreed by Heaven cannot be annulled by Hell. What has been settled in eternity cannot be undone in time. | 7/28/2026 | Some years ago I heard about a clergyman who had a friend who was an actor. The actor was drawing large crowds of people, and the clergyman was preaching to a few in the church. He said to his actor friend, “Why is it that you draw great crowds, and I have no audience at all? Your words are sheer fiction, and mine are unchangeable truth.” The actor’s reply was quite simple. “I present my fiction as though it were truth; you present your truth as though it were fiction.” I fear that so often we Christians give the idea that the truth is fiction by the way we live and by the lack of dedication to the teachings of our Lord. | 7/27/2026 | I heard of a tragic event. A father went to the hospital to pick up his newborn baby and wife. He left the automobile running with the keys in the car, and their three-year-old in the back seat. Then, someone came to steal the car; later, they found the car abandoned, but they couldn’t find the boy, so people set out to find him. One man who joined the hunt thought, “Maybe the little boy just got out of the car and is somewhere in the vicinity of where the car was abandoned.” He began to shine a flashlight up and down alleys. There was an old house with a swing and on the swing were some newspapers. He shined the light on the newspapers and saw some movement. He cried out, “Billy! Billy!” Billy said, “Is that you, daddy?” And this man praised the name of God. He said, “No, Billy, I’m not your daddy, but I’m here to take you to your daddy.” Friend, that’s the job of the church—to rescue the perishing, to seek them out, to find them, to bring them to Him. | 7/26/2026 | Some of the loads we carry are not part of God’s plan for us. At times, we lug around guilt that lingers even after confession of sin. Or we carry worry about the future (Matthew 6:34). Other burdens, however, are simply part of living faithfully in a broken world. We have genuine responsibilities—caring for family, navigating work demands, maintaining relationships—that can feel heavy. And we face relational difficulties that arise not because God orchestrates them but because we are imperfect, living among imperfect people. When such challenges persist without resolution, they can leave us feeling overwhelmed. But every circumstance in life passes through God’s hands before reaching us. He never intends for any of His children to carry a burden without His help. He says to give it to Him (Ps. 55:22) and promises to sustain us. Casting your cares upon God means releasing them fully into His control (1 Peter 5:7). He’ll sustain you with His peace as you trust Him to see you through. Charles Stanley |
| 7/25/2026 | God’s plan for every believer is made up of a lifetime of opportunities. No matter what our career or calling may be, we should each seek ways to serve the Lord daily. We do this by ministering—wherever we are—to family members, friends, neighbors, and coworkers (Romans 12:10-13). The Lord gives His children gifts and talents suitable for fulfilling His purposes, so we know He wants to use us. You can be sure that when you make yourself available to follow Him in any circumstance, He’ll equip you with the right tools for the task. Tell the Lord you are available to work for Him in any way He desires. He will respond by placing people and opportunities in your path. You can be just as faithful as anyone and have the commendation of the Lord. Take the one talent you have and invest it in eternal things. | 7/23/2026 | The world claims there are many paths to a successful, rewarding life: education, wealth, public recognition, service … But true fulfillment comes from the Lord and following His wisdom. When we choose to align our heart with scriptural truth, we will “find favor and good repute in the sight of God and man” (v. 4). This isn’t a formula for success—it’s a description of what happens when we live in harmony with how life was designed to work. God’s wisdom helps us see situations from His perspective and respond in ways that honor Him. When we walk in His wisdom, we gain strength to stand firm in our faith even when circumstances are difficult. We learn to trust His character instead of demanding immediate answers. Wisdom doesn’t eliminate hardship (John 16:33), but it does anchor us in the truth that God is good, faithful, and present with us, even in seasons we don’t understand. Charles Stanley |
| 7/22/2026 | Before the Big Four Conference in Geneva, I watched President Eisenhower kneel in a chapel and ask God for divine guidance in the deliberations to follow. I felt sure that God would answer his earnest prayer. I believe that He did, for President Eisenhower during those days displayed the spirit of a true peacemaker on the international level. The only corrective measure in establishing peace is for men as individuals to know the peace of God. Though I am not wholly averse to movements which strive in one way or another for world peace, I have a strong conviction that such peace will never come unless there is a spiritual dynamic at the core. I pray for wars to cease, just as I pray for crime to stop; but I know that the basic cause of both crime and war is the inherent sinfulness of human nature. | 7/21/2026 | Loneliness is one of the most isolating, painful feelings people face. God designed us for connection, both with Him and with others. From the very beginning, He said it was not good for man to be alone (Genesis 2:18). Yet even the most faithful believers face seasons of loneliness. Picture Elijah standing alone on Mount Sinai after fleeing for his life (1 Kings 19:9-10) or Jesus praying alone in the garden while His disciples slept nearby (Matthew 26:36-46). These moments weren’t failures of faith—they were simply part of the human experience. When loneliness settles over us, it’s easy to believe we’ve been forgotten or abandoned. But God promises, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). His presence doesn’t depend on our feelings or circumstances. He is with us in the crowded room and in the empty house, in seasons of rich community and in times when we feel utterly alone. Loneliness can drive us to despair, or it can become an invitation to experience God’s nearness in a deeper way. God does not force His gift on us, but He asks us to receive by faith the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. A person who deliberately refuses God’s offer of love, mercy, and forgiveness is lost. Although people like Paul, who have a conspicuous role, may seem more necessary, every believer is just as essential. God values our service not by its visibility but by the heart behind it. He promises to reward our service and invites us to find our satisfaction in knowing we’re contributing to His eternal purposes—not in whether or not others recognize our contribution. God declared that things will not satisfy. God satisfies! This is the secret of soul-satisfaction: Let your soul delight itself in fatness. My home is just on the other side!” We Christians are not afraid of the night of death because our heavenly home is “just on the other side.” The resurrection of Christ changed the midnight of bereavement into a sunrise of reunion; it changed the midnight of disappointment into a sunrise of joy; it changed the midnight of fear to a sunrise of peace. We like to divide religions up and say there’s Confucianism, Buddhism, Islam, and all these other different kinds of religions. And then we take Christianity and subdivide it. We say there’s Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Episcopalian, Catholic, and so forth. But there are only two religions: the true and the false. One is the way of Cain and the other is the way of the cross. What is the way of Cain? The way of Cain is religion without the blood sacrifice and without the atonement. Peace in the Bible is not the subtraction of problems from life. Peace is the addition of power to meet those problems. The Bible says, “Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble” (Psalm 119:165). The only way you can live that way is to put on the shoes of peace. Every component is in place, and how quickly the tiles will fall when He precipitates the day and hour. For followers of Jesus, we do not look to the future with dread. Our God sits upon the throne of an eternal kingdom. We are not waiting for Him to get started; we are waiting for God to complete His plan. Soon, the struggles of this life will conclude. | 7/10/2026 | Most of us want to be healthy in mind, body, and spirit. To become physically fit, we need to exercise and eat well. If our goal is a strong mind, then we must apply ourselves to acquiring knowledge and self-control. However, to become mighty in spirit requires something more than human effort. You see, none of us was born with a spiritual connection to God. Because of Adam and Eve’s transgression, we were all dead in our sins and separated from the Lord (Ephesians 2:1). But by accepting Jesus into our heart, we are forgiven, reconciled to God, and made alive in our spirit (Ephesians 2:5). This is the first step of the Christian life. Once we are born again, the indwelling Holy Spirit teaches us how to view life as Jesus does, embrace the Lord’s values and priorities, and follow His example. The more we yield to the Spirit’s instruction, the sooner we’ll be transformed into Christ’s image, equipped to carry out His will, and strengthened in our inner spirit to serve Him.
