| “Walking in the Word of God“ is a phrase that refers to living in accordance with God’s Word, and is a central theme in the Bible. It involves allowing God’s Word to guide your thoughts, desires, conversations, and decisions. |
“Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord.” Psalm 119:1
Psalm 119:1 Reminds us that God should be guiding us and letting His word be our guide, directing our thoughts, forming our desires, affecting our conversations, leading our decisions, and transforming every facet of our lives.
This is the key to our blessings for experiencing life. Abundance in this world is walking in God’s word. And then, to the extent to which we may stray from God’s word and are not thinking in line with God’s word, are not desiring in line with God’s word, are not speaking in line with God’s word, or not making decisions in line with God’s word, then we are walking away from God’s blessing and the abundance of life that God has designed for us.
Obedience to God’s Word is key for every Christ follower. We must read His Word, abide by it, meditate on it, stand upon it, and live it. That is what it means to walk in His ways. |
